Recycle not trash

From close by I a see on a daily basis how products just got thrown because it probably cost more then recycling.

Like one of the big greeting card companies trows their envelopes when they change sections of their stock for instance when a seasonal section like Easter gets changed lots and lots of envelopes just end up in the trash and they don’t even end up in paper recycling.

Isn’t it time that companies start to be aware of the wishes of their consumers of not trowing articles that are great to reuse or recycle.

Spring changes

Spring is here and that means that we can start thinking about more things we can do to make this place a better world.

You know if you would sacrifice a little part of your great green lawn for a vegetable patch you would help yourself in numerous ways first of all you don’t have to go to the shops so often and you don’t get as much pesticides in your body and of course it looks great to.  And a vegetable patch doesn’t have to take that much work. You can for instance plant some strawberries they don’t need a lot of taken care of and they are very good for you and i promise they taste way better then the once you buy in the store.

And with spring you garden gets more attention any ways. But do you have a nice tree in your garden? If not think about one because tree’s will help to get our air clean and the air we breath would not be there without them.

Just keep those two little changes in mind and i will be back with more of those little things we all can do to make this world a better place for you and the next generations to come.

SecondHand

You know Garage / yard Sale season is coming soon with Spring just a couple of hours away.

And isn’t getting some barely used goods a great way to recycle and a great way to keep good stuff from ending up at the landfills.

My advice see if you can find some cool yard sales and maybe you can finally find that special item you are looking for and all for just a fraction of what it would have cost new.

A pro whale catching group in Norway showed some interesting information about how much green house gas 1 kilo of meet creates.

Here are the facts.

1kg of Whale meat creates 1.9kg of greenhouse gasses

1kg of chicken meat creates 4.6kg of greenhouse gasses

1kg of Pork meat creates 6.4kg of greenhouse gasses

1kg of beef meat creates 15.8kg of greenhouse gasses

OK maybe whale meat is the best for the greenhouse gasses but maybe not for the animals. But the rest of the table makes you think and is something you can keep in mind the next time you want some meat on your plate

Drying

Everything seem has to go quick these days but is that always necessary?

For instance we have a dryer next to our washing machine but is that really such a useful machine?

first of all it shrinks my clothes, second the clothes don’t last as long any more either.

And then if you think of it do our clothes really need to be dry right after i wash them? I believe not i can put some different clothes on today.

Did you ever think of getting a drying rack? I did and I noticed it to. First of all my clothes don’t shrink as much any more and look better but besides that I really notice it on my electric bill to.

I would say think about a drying rack, even if you live in an apartment a drying rack can help you out.

The offer them in all kind of sizes for one that can stand in your bathtub to big enough for a big families laundry, and they are not as expensive as you think.
