I was walking through the local grocery store and got a bit of a surprised.
Why do people buy organic? I believe that they think it is more healthy and better for the enviorment.
So what did I see that surprised me. First the juice had added vitamin C to me when they start adding things that do not belong in it I would back away.
But to me the worst part of this juice was that it was made from Concentrate! To me juice from concentrate is not very good for the envirment at all. Do you remember my post about Orange Juice?
Why would any person that takes the effort to buy organic buy something like this? To me it just does not make any sense at all. If it does to you then please leave some comments.

How is your washer?
If it breaks down and needs a replacement, then look more closely at what you should get.
Did you know that front-loading washing machines use only a fraction of the water used by a top-loader? And if that’s not enough to win you over, a front-loader also saves a lot on electricity. Okay, it could be a bit more expensive, especially if you normally go for the cheapest model, but this is one instance where it’s worth spending a bit more to help save the planet.

An easy way to save energy is to make use of freely available solar power. You can get not only solar-powered lights for the garden, but also solar-powered Christmas lights, entrance lights, and much more.
The nice thing is, solar-powered lights are not that expensive, so you only need to make a small initial investment. You’ll save power and you’ll save the planet, and you won’t ever have to worry about turning off the lights because they will go off automatically.

If you didn’t know yet, LED Christmas lights can save you a lot in electricity. So if you are in the market for some new indoor or outdoor Christmas lights, go for LED.
There is another way to save on Christmas lighting. You can keep your lights on for a bit less time. I don’t think lights have to be on after 10 pm, especially in the period before and after Christmas. Of course, there’s deciding how early to put them up. Your Christmas lights don’t have to go up RIGHT NOW, despite what the retailers say. Wait a couple of days and you’ll see the savings on your electric bill. If we all put it off by one day, we would save a mind-boggling amount of electricity.
So tell your friends, co-workers, neighbours, and whoever is willing to listen to keep their lights off for one more day.

We all like to show of our things like kids, holidays and so on and what is the best way of doing this? Of course with a picture. But do you know how bad real photo’s are on the environment! All those chemicals needed to make the photo paper and to get your photo’s printed.
Even if you print your photo’s at home with you own printer you still need a lot of ink’s and paper that are all not very good for our planet specially because those photo’s don’t all stay so interesting and end up somewhere in a box or even worse end up in the garbage.
But there are solutions that are better for the planet. You can have your photo’s digital and you can show them any where where there is a computer.
And there are other ways like putting photo’s on your iPod or a digital photo frame.
Today I found this little photo frame

It is only 3.5″ big but it is also so cheap (less then 30 dollars) to make it interesting to take with you instead of the old fashion little photo album in your purse to show you photo’s to your friends.
by doing so you save a little bit of our planet. This picture frame even has a rechargeable battery so that you can recharge it all the time.
Interested in this little gadget that would be the perfect holiday present then have a look at ThinkGeek where I found this little frame.

Okay, we keep hearing on the news about how bad the economy is and how we can ”help” the economy by consuming more. BUT, consuming more means more waste, and more waste is bad for the planet.
If you would buy less - and I know that all of us can buy a little less - we would all save money and the planet.

Do you have to read every magazine’s latest issue right away, or can you wait a bit?
An easy way to go easy on your wallet and the environment is to share magazines with your friends. For instance, you buy magazine A this week and yoru friend buys magazine B. Next week you give your “old” magazine A to your friend and you get their “old” magazine B. This way, both of you get to read both magazines for half the money and half the paper. Of course, you can do this with more than one friend. The deal gets better - both for you and for the environment - the more friends you involve. When you’re all done with the magazines, they should of course go into the paper recycling bin.

Let’s face it: We are a society that is often forced to grab something quick to eat or drink, and that usually means we get our food and drinks in paper/cardboard containers.
So why don’t we recycle these? It’s easy! Just keep your drink cups in a stack in your car, and you can drop them off the next time you go to recycle paper. If you eat a lot of fries, then do the same with those containers. As you get into the habit of recycling food containers instead of dumping them in the trash, you will realize that many more types of paper “waste” can be recycled to save the planet.

Do you bring home so many plastic bags that if you kept them all, they would take over your house?
Not taking the offered plastic bags every time can really help save the planet, because most disposable bags end up living in a landfill or littering our natural landscape after just one use.
Maybe keep some of those clean plastic bags in your car so that you have them handy when you need one. Even better, switch to longer-lasting reusable bags and stop taking plastic bags entirely.
Believe me, it feels really good to say “I don’t need a bag” whenever I buy something.

Are you one of those people who like to charge their cell phones every night?
If so, then stop doing that! I don’t know how much you use your cell phone, but I use mine a couple of times a day, and it needs charging less than once a week.
It is good practice to let your battery drain almost empty before charging it. If you don’t charge your cell phone so often, you will preserve your battery and extend the battery life, and the world will house a lot fewer dead batteries (and a lot less chemical waste). Plus, your cell phone battery will stop needlessly sucking energy from the power grid.
