Stop using shampoo to clean your hair

I was watching something on the internet and then somewhere in the conversation the two people in this video brought up the subject of not using shampoo and still have clean hair.

That got my interested mainly because I don’t like all the stuff they put in shampoo. So after this video got my interested I did some searching around and found that there are more people that stoped using shampoo and still have clean hair.

This made me want to try this so on June 25 I washed my hair for the last time with shampoo. Let me tell you before I started this experiment I had a fair amount of dandruff and used special shampoo for that.

I read before that after a couple of days you can get the feeling of itching so I was prepared.

So now after stoping shampoo I just washed my hair with water while under the shower. After like 10 days my head became a little bit itchy but not to annoying but after a day of two that was completely gone.

And till now (I write this on August 4) I did not use any shampoo any more. My hair looks great and seem to look good for longer times without water. And one other thing that is pretty interesting my dandruff is gone.

My head seem to be in better shape and even feels nicer. My hair feels nice and not greasy at all.

This experiment really worked out for me and this way I save my head and skin by no longer dumping chemicals on my head and eventually in our environment.

I know this is not for everyone but I would recommend you to give it a try but if you do go for it for a month so that you give your head and hair the time to adjust.

Cellphones Bad?

Let me start with a question:

If a cellphone is able to make popcorn, is that good or bad?

Now watch this movie:

I guess what happens to the corn is basically what happens to your brain, but you only use one cellphone at a time, I hope.

But this makes you wonder how much harm the energy from wireless signals could do.

Everybody has heard the stories about how cellphones could cause brain damage, but supposedly there is no proof of it. Is the proof being hidden from us? Decades ago, the dangers of smoking were hushed up by the big tobacco companies.

I would say, use your cellphone and other wireless devices judiciously.

While browsing at the local public library I spotted this book. As we all know by now, borrowing books is much better for the planet than buying books, so I checked out this one and took it home, where it joined a tall stack of books I meant to read.

One day soon after, I was sick of all the other books, so I picked up 100 Ways to Save the World. It was so easy and fun to read. The 100 tips are simple and short, so you can read one tip at a time and blend it into your daily routine.

100 Ways to Save the World is a handy little resource for anyone who would like to make a difference in the world and is looking for a surefire way to get started.

Get this book at your local library, or buy a copy of 100 Ways to Save the World if you really need to.

If you visit this site, you probably stopped buying bottled water a long, long time ago.

But if you didn’t, or if you need to convince your friends, then have a look at this video:

Remember, stop drinking bottled water or your own water out of plastic bottles!

What! you would think reading the title of this post but it is true.

I don’t use my normal plates at the moment but eat from paper plates they are so easy no dishes and you can just trow them out when I am done.

OK that of course is not completely how it goes but it is close.

Normally I would not buy paper plates to eat from but I accedently ran in to a bunch of paper plates that where gone be thrown out by the store because they where not able to sell them any more. So I choose to take them home give them a use of plate then rinse them and maybe use them again and then put them in the paper recycling.

You see being good for the planet does not automatically mean that you can’t do things that sound so wrong in the first place.

Halloween 2008

Yes, Halloween is almost here, so we’re seeing more and more decorations go up.

This year, maybe we don’t have to buy the newest blow-up decoration for the lawn. The one from last year or the years before will still do. If you need to have something new, have you tried making something yourself? There must be lots of great stuff around the house that you can transform into Halloween decorations.

When it’s time to carve your pumpkins, try to use the insides as well. If you don’t know how, then check this recipes page for some ideas. You can make anything, from jam to muffins to soup

Then there are the costumes. I know yours needs to be better than those of your friends. But do you really think buying a factory-made costume from the store is the best way to stand out?

Try making your costume yourself and impress your friends with your creativity. In particular, kids should be encouraged to make their own costumes, because their young minds are still bursting with imagination, and the expensive store-bought costume certainly won’t fit next year.

If you can’t make your own costume, go to a secondhand store. You’ll often find a huge section of costumes, or separate pieces that can go together to make a great Halloween character.

I hope you gave this post a good read, and I hope it’ll inspire you to do something. We don’t want all that extra stuff to end up in the landfills after the celebration is over. If you’re sick of your old costume, a thrift store will be happy to take it.

Remember the post about how you can just as well drink tap water because bottle water is not much better?

If not have a look at THE ARTICLE HERE.

But now researchers showed that even bottle water contains the bad chemicals that your tab water could have BUT the big difference is that you can find out what the quality of your tab water is because they need to give out a test report if you want one. Not with bottle water.

And in a study it even showed that some bottled water contain more of surtain chemicals that some states in the USA allow in tap water.

My advice again would be don’t get the expensive bottle water just filter you own it will not make you healthier but it is just as bad or maybe even better.

Go see the little 1 minutes movie below and see how MTV wants to tell you how to save water.

They don’t really want you to go pee in the park, but they want you to flush less when you go to the washroom. I wonder how someone can flush less. I can imagine that if you are alone you can just flush once a day or something but besides that I don’t see what else we can do.

Maybe we should just all get low flow toilets that use a lot less water then the old water guzzlers.

The big airlines of this world did not really keep up with time. They still use radar systems to plot there course and that while even the kids on the playground have GPS in their Cell Phones.

What would happen if airlines would change to to a GPS based system?

An Associated Press analysis of federal and industry data found that if the new system were already in place, airlines could have saved more than $5 billion in fuel this year alone. (only based on US airlines).

Oh man that means we could have saved 5 billion dollars worth of fuel and what would that have done to our planet. 5 Billion dollars could save you a lot of green house gasses. And it could be even enough to maybe make your fuel bill a couple of cents lower every time you go to the pump.

Why or why are airlines stupid enough to remove the Video entertainment system from their planes to save fuel while a simple GPS solution would have saved them a bundle.
