Cellphones Bad?

Let me start with a question:

If a cellphone is able to make popcorn, is that good or bad?

Now watch this movie:

I guess what happens to the corn is basically what happens to your brain, but you only use one cellphone at a time, I hope.

But this makes you wonder how much harm the energy from wireless signals could do.

Everybody has heard the stories about how cellphones could cause brain damage, but supposedly there is no proof of it. Is the proof being hidden from us? Decades ago, the dangers of smoking were hushed up by the big tobacco companies.

I would say, use your cellphone and other wireless devices judiciously.

The world would be a better place if we didn’t need so much electricity. We’re all used to having electrical power whenever we want at our fingertips.

Take me, for instance. I’ve used an electric shaver for most of my life, which has no doubt wasted a lot of power.

But today I found a razor that you can charge by winding. A one-minute wind would generate enough power for a shave. That sounds pretty neat to me. Not only do you get a shave - you also get a bit of exercise working to power up your razor.

And this razor is not just a wind-up one. You can also plug it into a power socket or a 12-volt car socket, but who wants to do that when winding is much more fun? It’s also the perfect razor when you go camping in places with no electrical hook-up.

Go have a look at the Freedom Dynamo Electric Shaver.

Kill-A-Watt

We are all trying to use less and less of the Earth’s resources, but it can be hard when you do not know how much power you really use for a electrical device. For this reason, there are Kill-A-Watt devices that you can plug in between the power socket and the device power cord, and they will tell you how many dollars you are spending on electricity.

This version - the Kill-A-Watt EZ tell - can even forecast your device’s power usage over a week, a month, or a year, so that you know which are the big electricity gulpers in your home.

Check out the details of the Kill-A-Watt EZ or the simpler version, the Kill-A-Watt, and see how easy it is to find out how much power you waste.

Organic Juice???

I was walking through the local grocery store and got a bit of a surprised.

Why do people buy organic? I believe that they think it is more healthy and better for the enviorment.

So what did I see that surprised me. First the juice had added vitamin C to me when they start adding things that do not belong in it I would back away.

But to me the worst part of this juice was that it was made from Concentrate! To me juice from concentrate is not very good for the envirment at all. Do you remember my post about Orange Juice?

Why would any person that takes the effort to buy organic buy something like this? To me it just does not make any sense at all. If it does to you then please leave some comments.

Photo’s

We all like to show of our things like kids, holidays and so on and what is the best way of doing this? Of course with a picture. But do you know how bad real photo’s are on the environment! All those chemicals needed to make the photo paper and to get your photo’s printed.

Even if you print your photo’s at home with you own printer you still need a lot of ink’s and paper that are all not very good for our planet specially because those photo’s don’t all stay so interesting and end up somewhere in a box or even worse end up in the garbage.

But there are solutions that are better for the planet. You can have your photo’s digital and you can show them any where where there is a computer.

And there are other ways like putting photo’s on your iPod or a digital photo frame.

Today I found this little photo frame

It is only 3.5″ big but it is also so cheap (less then 30 dollars) to make it interesting to take with you instead of the old fashion little photo album in your purse to show you photo’s to your friends.
by doing so you save a little bit of our planet. This picture frame even has a rechargeable battery so that you can recharge it all the time.

Interested in this little gadget that would be the perfect holiday present then have a look at ThinkGeek where I found this little frame.

Remember the post about how you can just as well drink tap water because bottle water is not much better?

If not have a look at THE ARTICLE HERE.

But now researchers showed that even bottle water contains the bad chemicals that your tab water could have BUT the big difference is that you can find out what the quality of your tab water is because they need to give out a test report if you want one. Not with bottle water.

And in a study it even showed that some bottled water contain more of surtain chemicals that some states in the USA allow in tap water.

My advice again would be don’t get the expensive bottle water just filter you own it will not make you healthier but it is just as bad or maybe even better.

The big airlines of this world did not really keep up with time. They still use radar systems to plot there course and that while even the kids on the playground have GPS in their Cell Phones.

What would happen if airlines would change to to a GPS based system?

An Associated Press analysis of federal and industry data found that if the new system were already in place, airlines could have saved more than $5 billion in fuel this year alone. (only based on US airlines).

Oh man that means we could have saved 5 billion dollars worth of fuel and what would that have done to our planet. 5 Billion dollars could save you a lot of green house gasses. And it could be even enough to maybe make your fuel bill a couple of cents lower every time you go to the pump.

Why or why are airlines stupid enough to remove the Video entertainment system from their planes to save fuel while a simple GPS solution would have saved them a bundle.

Airlines could save 10 Billion dollar a year with GPS
