Organic Juice???

I was walking through the local grocery store and got a bit of a surprised.

Why do people buy organic? I believe that they think it is more healthy and better for the enviorment.

So what did I see that surprised me. First the juice had added vitamin C to me when they start adding things that do not belong in it I would back away.

But to me the worst part of this juice was that it was made from Concentrate! To me juice from concentrate is not very good for the envirment at all. Do you remember my post about Orange Juice?

Why would any person that takes the effort to buy organic buy something like this? To me it just does not make any sense at all. If it does to you then please leave some comments.

Remember the post about how you can just as well drink tap water because bottle water is not much better?

If not have a look at THE ARTICLE HERE.

But now researchers showed that even bottle water contains the bad chemicals that your tab water could have BUT the big difference is that you can find out what the quality of your tab water is because they need to give out a test report if you want one. Not with bottle water.

And in a study it even showed that some bottled water contain more of surtain chemicals that some states in the USA allow in tap water.

My advice again would be don’t get the expensive bottle water just filter you own it will not make you healthier but it is just as bad or maybe even better.

I was walking around one day an ran in to this car.

It looks like it will drive much any more but what a way to recycle it. The car is just parked on the side of the road and is fill with plants. Even the inside serves as a greenhouse for tomatoes.

So if you are in need of a vegetable garden and don’t have that space have a look at an old pickup truck and just fill it up with dirt and you are ready to go.

Did you know that lots and lots of the bottled water is just coming from the tap like you have at home?

Yes the big brands just get the water from the tap to and filter it like you could do at home to by getting a water filter like Brita and that way you water will be a lot cheaper and you don’t get all those nasty plastic bottles that are not healthy for you either.

I wonder about something.

We all know that our water that comes from the tap is cleaned before it go’s true all those pipes to my sink.

But how save are all those chemicals they use to clean the water? And how save are all those things they put in our water like Floride because the goverment thinks we need it?

I personally use a water filter because for me the taste of tap water is just bad almost as bad as drinking a bottle of cleaning sollution. I guess doing the filtering makes it a little bit better but even there I wonder about.

For instance Britta says that it doesn’t filter out Floride out of our water but what does it fileter? does it filter out the traces of medication that is found in our drinking water?

And what happends when you Britta filter gets old? does it start to put the bad stuff collected in the filter back in to your water?

I guess there are a lot of question to wonder about for now I will keep using my Britta water filter but I am not convinced that it makes our water that much better!

The Globe and Mail and CTV did a study on the amount of BPA found in food cans and the test is kinda shocking.

Who would thought that our food chain is also effected by the Bisphenol-A chemical. The article in the Globe and Mail describes that some food cans hold more BPA then our plastic bottles. And to me that is a concern because are we really save to still eat or drink our store bought groceries?

They also state that most foods are canned and then heated to sterilize stuff and that of course makes it extra dangerous for Bisphenol-A to leach out of the can liner.

I would say go read the article (link below) and see how much BPA your canned food contains and maybe even your beer is affected :(

Fun and exercise

You know there are some easy ways of working on your appetite and working of some of the food after.

I believe that this world would be a lot cleaner and healthier if we would just walk to and from the place where we go for a meal. This way you don’t pollute and you get some exercising to and of course you also support a little more of the local places.

Spring changes

Spring is here and that means that we can start thinking about more things we can do to make this place a better world.

You know if you would sacrifice a little part of your great green lawn for a vegetable patch you would help yourself in numerous ways first of all you don’t have to go to the shops so often and you don’t get as much pesticides in your body and of course it looks great to.  And a vegetable patch doesn’t have to take that much work. You can for instance plant some strawberries they don’t need a lot of taken care of and they are very good for you and i promise they taste way better then the once you buy in the store.

And with spring you garden gets more attention any ways. But do you have a nice tree in your garden? If not think about one because tree’s will help to get our air clean and the air we breath would not be there without them.

Just keep those two little changes in mind and i will be back with more of those little things we all can do to make this world a better place for you and the next generations to come.
